Manager of Software Development

The Manager of Software Development is a key management position with the ability to be a hands-on technical manager and lead a software development team of around 10-15 software developers. The team is responsible for Enterprise JEE based Web Portal Applications development for a Cloud Applications Development solution. This includes working with business analysts and application developers to design and implement web/portal applications & solutions in supporting the various business processes around the ACS Cloud Platform. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years total development experience executing against all phases of the SW development lifecycle, with 5+ years as a Manager or Team Leader. It should include experience in a CMMI level 3+ organizations.

Primary Experience:

5+ years experience as a Manager or Team Leader
8+ years total development experience across all phases of the SDLC
4+ years OOA/OOD, Design patterns, JEE based Web Portal Applications, JSP, EJB, JDBC, Struts, Spring/Hibernate, with Liferay Portal preferred
Demonstrated analytical thinking, adaptability, enthusiasm and motivation
Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
Pre-sales support experience  required

Implementation of support experience

Customer interface – needs to be comfortable and impressive with both customers and prospects.

Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills 

Secondary Experience:

• Liferay Portal framework, Eclipse IDE, Change control, Version control, Build, and Configuration management
• Exposure to various Portals & Dashboards
• EAI/Integration experience with Web Services, (with ESB & SOA preferred) 

Education:

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Business Administration or related discipline
